3 October 2025, Padua – The National Center’s President, Professor Rosario Rizzuto, opens the two-day event “History and Future of Medicine – A Tribute to Professor Federico Rea”, held in the Botanical Gardens of the University of Padua.
Organized by the Interdepartmental Center for the History of Medicine (CISM), the program brings together specialists, researchers, and the wider public through workshops on the future of medicine and therapies, alongside cultural initiatives including an exhibition of historic pharmaceutical advertising posters from the The National Museum of the Salce Collection and a guided tour of the Botanical Garden Museum.
In his institutional greeting, delivered together with Professors Stefano Moro and Franco Grego, Prof. Rizzuto emphasized the importance of bridging history and innovation in medicine. He then presented a keynote lecture titled “RNA and Gene Therapy: From Molecular Biology to New Medicines for Precision Medicine.”
Internationally recognized for his pioneering research in molecular and cellular biology, Prof. Rizzuto highlighted how RNA-based technologies and gene therapies are transforming the pharmaceutical field. His talk draws a connection between fundamental biological discoveries and cutting-edge therapeutic innovation, illustrating how precision medicine is reshaping patient care.
